Hi,
just taken a risk and bought a 2006 S2 SC which hits the rev limiter at 6000. Engine pulls strongly and smooth to that point then the limiter cuts in. I could just drive around using revs below but that would be no fun so any suggestions as to what I should look at first. Am told it was uprated to 255 cup shortly after new and had a new block 3000m ago, I reckon it hasn't rev'd past 6000 since. Anything obvious I should look at first?
Cheers.

If the engine temp is not high enough, the limiter pulls in. Wait until 80 deg. + before you push the throttle.

thanks for the tip. Temp is generally 94-96 but perhaps it is a sender issue. Do you know where the temp sender is that sends the message to the cam or how the message is passed through the ECU? I'll just work through all the possible issues one by one with the easiest first.
