Re: New daily driver: Up GTI

Thanks for all the friendly comments. Very different to the German Lotus forum where a similar posting received lots of negative comments like: 'crap, not a proper GTI, too expensive, the downsized engine will blow soon, ugly, don't buy from those VW cheaters, etc.' Whereas the Britisch people reall...

Re: New daily driver: Up GTI

... I had a Lupo GTi and loved the roller skate feel of it. Well done, fancy one of them myself. Purely out of interest, does the rear seat x3? I've never driven a Lupo GTI but the Up should be very similar. The biggest difference is probably the engine with its torque low down in the rev range. 'r...

New daily driver: Up GTI

Having spent too much money on Lotus cars I couldn't afford a proper midlife car anymore :D So I choose to buy an Up GTI as my new daily driver. It's a tiny, little car that weights in just over 1000 kg. The 1 litre 3-pot turbo charged engine has lots of torque and the six speed gearbox is short gea...

Re: Merry Christmas Exiges.com

Merry Christmas and a happy new year 2019 to all of you. I hope I'll be able to meet one or two of you the next year :-)
I must admit I'm one of the heathens who has his car 'abgemeldet'.

Re: Front bumpsteer

The measurements you've made seems to be normal. Although I did not measured it myself I've got a VX220 related document that shows the same results. The verdict is to change the angle of the steering arm by installing an adjustable steering arm. I can sent you the document via PM if you like. At le...

Re: Re: Jonny's S1 Exige for sale (190)

Hi Jonny, sorry to hear that you are selling your Exige. I had the hope that our Chrome Orange twins will meet one day. It looks like you got carried away with that restoration process and the car is in such perfect condition now that it's not useable anymore  I do enjoy a nice project just lik...

Re: Where can I get a rear grill like this from?

My car came with a similar grille. The edge has been covered with some standard edging stuff and the grill is fixed using screws.

Re: Vacuum readings

In my VHPD engined Exige the vacuum reads about 60kPa when idling. Compared to a standard Rover K enige this is quite high and may be caused by the high-overlap camshafts.

Re: S1 Injector

Are you sure the injector is broken? You might consider to get all of them cleaned by a company like ASNU injector service. They did a good job on my Exige S1 injectors. And they told me that my set of injectors were matched for equal fuel delivery as the deviation between them were nearly zero. If ...
