Re: Re: Jonny's S1 Exige for sale (190)

Hi Jonny, sorry to hear that you are selling your Exige. I had the hope that our Chrome Orange twins will meet one day. It looks like you got carried away with that restoration process and the car is in such perfect condition now that it's not useable anymore  I do enjoy a nice project just lik...

Re: Where can I get a rear grill like this from?

My car came with a similar grille. The edge has been covered with some standard edging stuff and the grill is fixed using screws.

Re: Vacuum readings

In my VHPD engined Exige the vacuum reads about 60kPa when idling. Compared to a standard Rover K enige this is quite high and may be caused by the high-overlap camshafts.

Re: S1 Injector

Are you sure the injector is broken? You might consider to get all of them cleaned by a company like ASNU injector service. They did a good job on my Exige S1 injectors. And they told me that my set of injectors were matched for equal fuel delivery as the deviation between them were nearly zero. If ...

Re: How to guides

Changing the rocker cover gasket is quite easy assuming you are talking about the Rover VHPD engine. Just remove the cover and replace the gasket with a new one. This gasket seals the spark plugs area too. If there is oil leaking into the spark plug area this could be caused by a leaking camshaft la...

Re: 15years of Exige Ownership

Great pictures and I enjoyed reading your owner ship story. A long term car owner ship has always something special to it.
Although I'm quite new to the Exige crowd I tend to keep my cars for a longer period of time too.
Glad to see that the next generation is preparing to take over

Re: Show Us Your Engine Cover Props

... Bearing in mind the stripped-down nature of the S1, I think this fits the ethos of the car much better than any more fancy devices!! I fully agree that the gas struts doesn't fit the spartan philosophy of the car. But I'm weak and couldn't resist the luxury they offer when working inside the en...

Re: Chome Orange - S1 different to S2? (What colour is mine?

I never heard of an Exige S1 in Burnt Orange but with Lotus you never know :-). Chrome Orange does change a lot depending on the light. Especially the glittering effect is only visible in bright sunlight. In any other light the colour just looks flat. Get a 'Certificate of Provenance' from the Lotus...
