Re: S1 Exige up for Auction

The Azure Blue Car from NI is back up for sale again! It’s on PH for £37,995 with with Bell & Colvill. Again? What’s the history with this car? Thanks Not sure what's going on with the colour -it looks purple but I think it's just badly photoshopped/post-processed Azure blue?! :eh: https://img.pist...

Re: S1 Exige #501

Looks great

Probably a stupid question, but does the aircon work at all? Mine's also an AC car but I've never put any effort into getting it working (I know it's notoriously ineffective). I also have an Emerald fitted now and in theory it can support the AC functions.

Re: Odd (slightly embarrassing) but sorted glitch...

 How odd, I wouldn't have thought you could start/un-immobilise the car with the alarm active... but then nothing surprises me any more with Lotus electrics. Do you know if the alarm siren still works?

Re: S1 tyre sizes

I've gone up to 205 45 on the front as you couldn't get AD08R in the stock width. I do get some rubbing on the arch liners on full lock but I had that on 195s anyway. I think another 10mm might be pushing it depending on your suspension setup.

Re: Replacement Schroth Harness

Nice job, yep it's never straightforward is it 😁

You mentioned stainless bolts... I may be wrong but I think the ones that secure the rails to the chassis floor should be high tensile, not sure stainless will be strong enough. Worth double checking for safety

Re: Replacement Schroth Harness

Have you got the seats back in yet? Worth checking underneath to see what the condition of the runners is like. When mine were out I noticed a flap of material wrapped around the frame that had drawn moisture and caused some nasty corrosion  Oh and the tub will clean up a treat with some magi...

Re: Happy Birthday S1 Exige

Thanks, would be interested - I wasn't sure if the Konis could be even be rebuilt/serviced. I have some shiny Nitrons waiting to go on but will certainly be hanging on to the Konis for future 'originality'. I'm hoping new bushes and balljoints will help as much, if not more than shocks for ride qual...

Re: Happy Birthday S1 Exige

Looks superb, but then I'm biased!

Nice to see one so original. How's the suspension holding up? Mine's still on original shocks, bushes, etc and feels a bit clunky. Planning on a refresh soon hoping to get back some of the magic :D

Re: Sad times

Sorry to hear that :(

If you do need to sell, maybe see if you can do a deal with first refusal to buy it back in future? Some people just want to scratch the 'Lotus itch' for a year or two, by which time you'll hopefully be in a position to buy again.

Re: S1 Exige TMR wheels wanted

Not a bad price tbh, I don't think that's far off what they cost in the group buy a few years ago. Just bear in mind you'll have to pay VAT and duty on the total value including shipping/insurance (not just the 'goods' cost) so you might be looking at nearer £2750 all in.
