Wishbone Bearings spacer refitment

Starting to rebuild now and refitting the swing arms complete with ES bearings. So when refitting the arms I take it the snubber is left out from the front and a small washer is put in its place? Keeping the original washer config as dismantled at the back of the arm? Strangely 4 on nearside 3 on th...

Re: Fitting Wheel Bearings

Cleaned up that inner face with flap wheel and bit of elbow effort with wet n dry, new bearings dropped in, Should have noticed when I picked them up.....lesson learned. Also noticed they hadn't plugged one of the steering arm ball joint recesses. Shame really as the standard of finish on all parts ...

Fitting Wheel Bearings

As part of the refurb I had the uprights powdercoated, unfortunately they have coated the inner area where the bearing slips into. I offered up the bearings and they are stopping about 5mm before fully home. Do I need to wet and dry the powder coat back off or will they pull in on the bolts? I am co...

When refitting do I need to fit the bearings after fitting the uprights (whole lot more difficult for torquing). Or will it be ok to fit the beari...

Re: Wishbone protection

Going to start on my wishbones this year, one query about powdercoating etc. Do they mask off the internal surfaces for the UJ and bushes? or do those get blasted and coated as well? Don't think I would be brave enough to drill holes in a wishbone though!

Re: Light Switch Panel - Wiring

As for sacrificing a vent, in my Elise (ran it through 3 summers on and off track) I never had the face vents open because I didn't like to be sand blasted by grit :lolno: I admit the hardtop of the Exige may change that, but I've gained AC (until it inevitably breaks) so I think I'll be ok. Sorry ...

Hi All

Thanks for the approval, used to use the old Lotus BBS back in the day, this looks like a great resource.
Will keep an eyeout for Exiges.com trackday in the meantime hoping for Bedford on the 14th.
