Re: S1 Exige for sale

I cant help but feel that 'new' Lotus will be cutting their loyal, enthusiast owners and Indy dealers adrift tho' - do hope I'm wrong. Sadly that is the way of the world these days, driven significantly by a combination of consumer legislation and product liability. Exige winning bid was where I th...

Welcome Bill

The site is a mine of excellent information so I hope we won't disappoint! It can be a little quiet at times, but quality is always better than just quantity 8-)

Re: New Garage Build

I have two 6ft LED battens (daylight, so around 6000K) and those are absolutely fine, with floor area around 36 sq. m. That's downstairs so the Velux don't come into it, other than down the stairwell at one end. Prior to that I had two 6ft fluorescent twin strips, and the LED's knocked those into th...

They do compress down yes, but I've found they recover well.

There is a benefit to this, as this eliminates the problem of flat-spotted tyres, eg. during winter storage.

@kevinbe111 I will take some pictures and post them up.

Re: New Garage Build

They're the gym-type, but thicker than the more usually available ones. I bought them originally when the garage was being built - I'd had to put my car in a friend's barn as I'd been ejected from my old garage by the new neighbours who owned it. The barn was dry but condensation was a problem, even...

Mine is pva-bonded then 17mm HD neoprene tiles. Compared to the bare floor these are an impressive insulation barrier and have the added benefits that: a) They are comfortable to kneel/lie on when working b) They absorb impacts so if you drop anything it is less likely to be damaged Also they are go...

Re: New Garage Build

Definitely liking the verandah 👍 I'd like to add something similar to mine, but the roof pitch is steeper so it would end up a lot narrower...not so much a verandah as a kerbstone with ideas! I'm interested why the slab isn't being poured until the end - my builder had it down straight after the fou...
