Re: Bloody hell, Sean!

You must have spent a fortune on hypnotherapy for the poor girl.

I mean, persuading someone that marrying a fat, ugly, bald Brummie ginger is a good idea is a bloody miracle!
Awesome having mates eh?

Nice one Sean.

Re: Boiled brake fluid!

Does anyone know the biggest rear discs that can be fitted to an S2 without any modifications? You can get the 290mm AP disc to fit under the standard S2 sliding caliper (just). Ironically the heat dissipating ability of the AP 290 disc is apparently better than the AP 295 (according to AP that is)

Re: Boiled brake fluid!

Hand what fluid, DOT 5?
Do not under any circumstances use Dot 5 brake fluid - it is silicon based and will cause a world of problems.

Use a good dot 4 or dot 5.1.

Re: What's happening at Brands A1GP Meet?

<t>I was gutted to see Sean have a few problems on the weekend. He is driving very well and that car looks very quick.<br/> <br/> Without a doubt, Gavin has the biggest balls of anyone on the circuit on Sunday. I have never seen a lotus go into Paddock Hill bend that fast. <br/> <br/> Giving it his ...

Re: Spax Set Up for Exiges S RSX 590

<t>Why would you replace the original suspension with spax? <br/> <br/> The lotus sport bilsteins were specifically designed for the car and are a pretty decent damper. Admittedly spring rates are a bit soft for hard track use, but I would suspect, overall on an exige s, they will be far better than...

Re: My Audi Conversion

Hi Sean

It has been one of the highlights of this forum following the development of your race car from the beginning and now on to Audi power. It really seems to be coming together - driving -wise too.

Really holding thumbs for you for a win at A1GP weekend.

Re: Replacing Top Engine Mount

That mount is very stiff. Looks the business, but a couple of people I know took it off (even on race cars) because they could not handle the vibration etc. I believe Geary is modifying it, but it would be worth checking. The alternative is the mount from Bernard Scouse: http://www.auto-teknix.co.uk...

Re: Honda/Audi

Thought I better clarify, I mean an SC Honda engine and box is heavier than an audi turbo engine and box. Have you gone for the 5 speed box? That is lighter than a PG1 and with a lightweight flywheel should save nearly 20kg over the 6 speed box with a std flywheel. At least that's what Dave (MADDOG...

<t>I am no expert, but researched this for my VVC engine. The answer is fairly complex but involves several key aspects. <br/> <br/> 1) The VVC mechanism and cams etc provide a good balance between torque and power across the rev range. They are not designed for very high peak power - they provide n...

Re: so what killed the honda engines at spa?

Anyone who has attended exiges.com trackdays/LOT Races/Mid engined Series etc, knows the full extent of the camaraderie amongst many owners. It just really doesn't matter what powers the car - we respect each other's choice, & proceed to gladly help & support one another, as & when required. Of cou...
