Re: Refurb of polycarbonate engine cover

Received the resprayed engine cover and have refitted... looks like new, fantastic!! Boys at Finishlineukltd did a great job. Did require removal of remainder of tint prior to any new application to avoid any read through. Appreciate your feedback including the details of Peerless coatings which was...

Re: Refurb of polycarbonate engine cover

Thanks Thommo... popped the car along to Finishlineukltd yesterday (based near Stevenage) who will have a go at respraying the polycarbonate.
Hadn’t realised the tint was originally sprayed on.
Left them the part, had surprisingly good rear view visibility on the way back too!!

Re: Refurb of polycarbonate engine cover

Thanks for feedback gents. Read that there is a coating either side of the polycarbonate, outside obviously all over, inner looks like it runs to edge of blackoff. Re: Refurb of polycarbonate engine cover

I can understand the blackoff being the middle layer...
But there appears to be a film/tint on the top surface, which is in my case partially removed, showing a clear polycarbonate below ... Happy to forward an image

Refurb of polycarbonate engine cover

Have partial loss of the top layer (tint) from the polycarbonate cover.
Realise that replacements are extremely hard to find, but would be happy to purchase one ... has anyone ever had the polycarbonate recoated?

Re: Le Mans on Eurosport

Would be good to see an Exiges.com outing there... Already paid up for next year, the return of Porsche.
Btw, who had the other Laser Blue S1 out there this year?

Re: A dodgy Ecu Speed Sensor perhaps?

Benja, lucky to have seen a few different motorsports over the years, love the 24hrs... But if you want a recommendation, just get to the TT!!

Re: A dodgy Ecu Speed Sensor perhaps?

Just returned from another successful Le Mans trip, no 5.5k rev limiter even in the wet... believe the cullprit or partly responsible cullprit was a split vacuum hose adjacent to the fuel rail. The engine revs superbly now!!
