Whooshing!

Post by andybond » Mon Feb 25, 2019 9:00 pm

I have a whoosh!

It only happens when car engine is under load and its from the front , somewhere!

It sounds like a turbo dumping when I release the throttle. Car feels fine , not down on power , and not over temp. It started this morning and all I can describe it as is a turbo dumping its boost.

Only happens at speed , with or without the aircon on.

Ideas?

I dont know? I have never experienced it before.

It sounds like its coming from the front not the rear. Everything else appears to be fine.

Its literally started doing it this morning .

Front of the car, or front of the engine. Bypass valve is attached to the SC.

front of the car. Sounds like just in front of the window.

I did clean the dash with a cloth on Sunday thinking about it . Wonder if I have disturbed something?

Hmm. Been out in it again , its only when revs at >3k and when I keep it at 6k rpm for instance its pronounce.

Weird.

Car still feels as punchy and the fuel economy hasnt gone through the floor.

I think it might be the bloody air con again. Had my eldest start the car and I can hear the noise eminating from the radiator area. I know it’s not the rad as I haven’t lost any water, my charge cooler is working fine , working on the basis that my inlet is cold to touch and I haven’t lost any water. Also note that my blower isn’t really blowing cold air any longer, the engine Revs don’t drop when the blue light comes on.

Silly car!
