Whilst I liked the idea of carbon seats - I had looked at Eltech Italia and a few others, I wasn't so keen on the current Lotus design, when I test drove a Sport 350 with them, the pad design made them a bit uncomfortable (for me at least) - So as I was able to procure the carbon shells, I started a conversation with Allon White.....

Lead time was quite long, but it gave me a chance to find a design that I liked and suited the car.. so in late August last year I got this picture from Allon White..

I had decided not to use the harness hole at the bottom as the trimmer has told me that the material can start to loosen after a while, and I wasn't planning to use a full harness anyway. On getting the seats back and getting ready to fit them, we discovered that early Toyota cars have slightly different seat runners to the later cars...the same as the later K series cars - so with help from junks and his 'network' we found some frames in Germany that didn't cost the earth and had very little play too (a bonus). Fitting the seats was not trivial as things only just lined up and we had to 'adjust' some of the fixings...

After some messing around, bit of cleaning, adding a carbon fibre centre console to go with the sill covers, and replacing the speakers in the rear (and then the front as well) with Focal AC series, seats went in....

Very happy with result.....

I tore my hair out for hours trying to build the seat frames and get the seats in when I bought my Reverie Carbon ones, but well worth the countless hours fettling spacers and length of bolts etc. I was so glad Lee didn't take the car with the seats as with "some" effort (read hours) I got them to fit in the Clio
